Traditional old-time music is their style, and The Woodpickers have been playing informally together for over 10 years. They can also be heard at gatherings in and around Great Smoky Mountains National Park because of their work with Discover Life in America and Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont. The Woodpicker's music includes traditional fiddle tunes, Irish and string band favorites as well as original songs about the Great Smokies.
The Woodpickers are:
Jeanie Hilten- Banjo, guitar, vocals
Richard Hilten- Hammered Dulcimer
John Richardson- Mandolin
Lon Spurgeon- fiddle, guitar, vocals
Ken Voorhis- Guitar, vocals, harmonica

The Woodpickers play for the fun and the fellowship, but also to benefit the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont. All proceeds of their work go to provide scholarships for Tremont programs, giving young people the chance to enjoy and connect with nature. Visit Tremont's Web page to learn more about their work.
